Trapeze Artist Persists

A simple collage, one image, one new line of text, and, voila, another riff on the meme "Nevertheless, she persisted."

Constructing "Trapeze Artist Persists"

The original image (above) is a commercial color lithograph from a cigarette card published in 1887 by W. Duke, Sons & Co. (New York and Durham, N.C.). I found this in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's online collection of artworks that are in the public domain.
I did a little trimming of the image to get the borders rough looking. I removed some original type using the clone brush in Corel PaintShop Pro X5.
Then, I added my own line of type in Arial Black.
